It’s time to call Channel Nine’s Wide World of Sports, because the Annual Suri Ratnapala Cricket Cup is back for its fifth instalment! Start your semester right straight off the BAT, by donning your best whites, wide-brim hats and zinc, and coming along to enjoy the day next Sunday 8 March from 1pm at Oval 9, UQ!

The Suri Ratnapala Cup is a hotly contested cricket match that sees TC Beirne’s finest cricketing talent take on a team of legal professionals to bring home the glory. After suffering a shock loss in 2019 that broke their 3-year winning streak, the Student XI will be fighting harder than ever to reclaim the coveted trophy!

This annual event is a fun day for all to enjoy, whether you will be on the field spinning the ball like Warney, or cheering from the sidelines whilst partaking in the free food and refreshments. On this note, the UQLS would like to thank IGA St Lucia Marketplace very much for their incredible generosity in providing us with enough food to feed Merv Hughes after a long day in the outfield.
