Allens Arthur Robinson First Year Buddy Program
The UQLS has reformed the mentoring program for 2010. Material to be covered by “Buddies” will be available in a handbook format to be covered over a number of weeks.This way , first year students will have the opportunity to interact with their peers and other students who have already been through everything they are about to embark on. They will learn top ways to study, be let in on the best secret watering holes on campus and develop skills that will be useful throughout their degree.
The UQLS believes that any opportunity to get a better feel for your new surroundings is one worth taking and there’s nothing better than coming to uni and seeing a familiar face or twenty around campus. Many exchange universities have similar programs for their incoming students and it’s pretty common to meet lifelong friends through mentor groups.
