Competitions Advisory Board
This year, CAB is sponsored by Corrs Chambers Westgarth. CAB serves many functions including providing general assistance to the UQLS Competitions Team in regards to problems, judging and establishing rules for the competitions; particularly mooting. CAB also has a more advisory role, which includes assisting the UQLS in coaching successful mooters and competitors.

One of CAB's main functions is to run the Faculty Moot in Semester 2.
They will also be running CAB's Competition Classes throughout the year, so keep checking this website for details. Classes will be held for Mooting, Negotiation, Client Interview and Trial Advocacy Competitions.

Faculty Moot
This moot is open to all year levels.
There are two teams in each moot – one representing the Appellant and the other the Respondent. Teams may consist of three people although only two people from each team speak in a moot. Members of a three person team may, if they wish, rotate speakers in each round and all three members can be involved in the research and preparation for each round.
For both the Junior and Senior Competition, there will be two preliminary moots.The 8 teams with the highest scores will progress to the Quarter Finals. From then, it will be knock-outs - if you win your moot, you go through to the Semi Finals/ Finals.
There is only one problem for the entire competition.

Grand Final: Wednesday 6 October, Federal Court 5:30pm.
